Polite notice – May 2021
We are getting a growing amount of people arriving the day before and parking up in the car park using our facilities and having a free night’s stay. This is not fair on customers that are already staying on site and others still checking in throughout the evening who have paid for the night.
We have no issues with people travelling through the night and arriving in the early hours to avoid traffic and so their children can sleep etc, we completely understand the issues involved with long journeys.
This decision is to stop people who are taking advantage of the car park and arriving earlier and earlier. In future anyone arriving the day before they are due will be given a pitch for the night and charged, or if none are available you will be asked to stay elsewhere and comeback on the day your due to arrive.
Customers who wish to arrive the afternoon or evening before they are due should be adding the extra night onto their booking, there is no difference to pulling on to your pitch at that time of day as there is pulling into the car park. You can then be safe in the knowledge you are waking up already on your pitch. Please note for people not wishing to do this Cornwall services do offer overnight parking for a fee, so people wishing to arrive the day/evening before are able to stay there and then just have a short drive to us in the morning ready for midday check in.
Our site license covers us for the holiday park but not the car park for overnight stays. Due to this we do not wish to encourage more early arrivals for the car park by offering reduced fees as some people have suggested. This will then lead to issues with the Council and our site license.
We believe what we have chosen to do is fair to everyone and stops the people who are taking advantage.
Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation in this matter, we look forward to seeing everyone this year and are keeping fingers crossed for some lovely sunshine.
